doodleville pink car (micron & brush fibre tip pens)

it could be a Cadillac, could be a Chevy. Might be a Ford - I know next to nothing about cars... Soon they'll all be electric anyway! In London, they're already installing ''Juice-Points'' where you can plug in your electric car.
Will we look back fondly on the infernal combustion engine with the same nostalgia we have for the age of steam.

There's a documentary I want to see - I think it's called "Who Stole the Electric Car". It's kind of amazing that we've had this technology for quite a while now but the powers that be in big oil didn't like it. Now with some major positive changes made in government we'll start seeing the electric car once again. In a strange historic twist, there's a big push for travel by train once again - something once old is looking very new and fresh again. Anyhow, I really love this drawing Ian.

thanks, steve. the US car industry looks like it could need a new direction too - get in there before the foreign imports!

Ian, have I told you lately how happy I am you are in the moleskine exchange? Your work is always so full of energy!

Well, I proudly own a foreign import (a Honda), but it was bought used (and seventy percent of the vehicle was manufactured in the states). Truth is, they're a lot better in most respects, and for a guy with a tight budget, less car problems is a must have. I know if they made better cars in Detroit, I'd gladly buy one, but I think, unfortunately they've made their own bed. Ideally though, I wouldn't have to own a car. Been trying to figure it out, but so far, considering my work situation, there are too many cons.

Aw, that's nice of you to say, Andrea. It's been fun and I shall miss it after next month. What shall we do then?

Steve, your fuel is still cheap in the US and the distances are longer but I've read studies that in London (and presumably most cities here) it is more economical in the long run to use public transport and taxi cabs at all times and hire a rental car on those few occasions when you need to drive out of town.
There'll come a time when fuel will be just too expensive for you too. We'll all have to rethink our transport needs.

If you're a listener to R3's 'Late Junction', check out Irish electo-acoustic composer www.rogerdoyle.com who sometimes figures (he's also on YouTube).
I love these vivid, sensitive line drawings. Wish I didn't love cars so much, tho' ...
